Kate is our upbeat and energetic Front Desk Manager. She is the first face you’ll see when you walk into our office, and she’ll probably greet you with a great, big smile. Kate went to the University of Washington, where she majored in the Comparative History of Ideas. For her thesis in college, she wrote five Children’s Books that she hopes to publish in the near future. Music is a passion of hers, and although she played the piano for 13 years, she now prefers to listen to others…particularly Dave Matthews Band. She grew up in the sunny state of California, and moved to Washington as a young teen. This helps to explain her love of anything relating to the water. Sailing, kayaking, swimming and diving are a few of her favorite hobbies. When Kate isn’t running the front desk at Matheny Chiropractic Center, she’s likely to be spending time with her family, friends and two cute dogs.
As an insurance billing and benefits advisor for our patients, I am passionate about helping you receive the best insurance coverage your health insurance dollars will provide. Hello, my name is Becky and I am our clinics Office & Billing Manager. I am our financial steward responsible for ensuring claims, billing, and daily clinic operations are managed efficiently. Prior to joining this excellent team of professionals, I was a Credit Analyst and Financial Manager in the banking industry for over 15 years. In this role I would oversee and advise on the investments and financial affairs of my clients making sure they receive top notch service. In addition to overseeing the billing department, I work to apply my management experience in accounting, budgeting, and claims processing to ensure we adhere to all regulatory guidelines. On a livelier note, I am a California transplant but have enjoyed calling the Great Northwest my home. In my spare time I have learned that if I don't succeed the first time that skydiving might not be right for me.
Geni recently joined the practice at the end of 2012. She offers the physical medicine services recently added to our practice. After graduating from the UW with a major in cell, molecular, developmental biology and working in a research lab for a few years, Geni realized that her true passion was in medicine. After researching the various options, she was drawn to the career of a nurse practitioner. She loved the holistic approach such a career offered. After looking into several programs, she felt that Seattle University offered the ideal program. After applying and being accepted, Geni attended Seattle University and graduated with a Family Nurse Practitioner degree. After graduation, she worked in neurosurgery for 2 years. Although she learned valuable skills, she realized surgery was not her calling, and searched for a clinic based job that would allow her to provide education and preventative services. She thought the position being advertised at Physical Medicine of Bellevue sounded like the ideal position for her. In addition to nursing, Geni enjoys running, backpacking, cooking and spending time with her family and dogs.
